Rainbows from God

Twice, when I doubted, God showed me twin rainbows in the sky to remind me that He keeps His promises...I want to remember how much I have been blessed with...

Has it been that long?

I found myself repeatedly being surprised by 'big news' like that, whenever I read or hear something from the web or friends' blogs.  Has it really been that long?  Feels like I'm in the ancient Chinese story of 南柯一梦.

Then again, it is becoming increasingly ridiculous to me that such news can actually snowball so big it captures Singaporeans' eyes and ears day and night!

Blog Again in 2010

Don't know how often this is gonna happen.  I think it might be good if I do schedule regular blogging into my routine -- so I could re-start the habit of slowing myself down daily (or weekly) to reflect.

Been physically and emotionally tired.  Grouchy especially at night when I still can't stop doing things or have some quiet time.  Actually...'grouchy' is an understatement -- I get totally UPSET.

Anyway, here I am tonight, from being exhausted to sleepless...I wondered why.  The funny thing is, I finally had a good night before the girls all went to bed! *LOL*  KH's laptop finally gave up after 5 years, so Faith had to 'give up' her regular bedtime Sesame Street too.  Faith, Joy and I enjoyed snuggling up on the couch to read books they took turns pulling out from the shelves, while KH backed up his data.  Thank God, Baby Peace finally fell asleep in my arms after a long day of not much sleep (for an infant of her age).

January is coming to an end.  Looking back at our first month of homeschool, I seem to still be in introduction.  For our homeschool journal:
  • Faith is still not ready for the entire curriculum.
  • She likes the pictures, but the stories are too lengthy to make her sit and stare at one page for that long.  I've replaced Bible stories with The Beginner's Bible Stories.  She grasps and retains more from this version.
  • She is getting used to the routine that we're (still) setting up -- Music and Movement, Calendar, Prayer, Bible Story and Work (Craft, pre-writing skills, etc.)  Even when it's beyond school time, when she wanted me to read her a Bible story, she'd close her eyes, put one hand on her Bible and pray.
  • She knows the concept of 'same'; but is still learning 'different'.
  • She can count one-to-one up to 10 and beyond.
  • Can colour within the lines.
  • Can trace dotted lines.
  • Can cut better with scissors.
  • Nods, shakes her head, and verbally expresses her wishes more often now.
Looks like I haven't relaxed my eyes afterall.  Hmmm...
