Rainbows from God

Twice, when I doubted, God showed me twin rainbows in the sky to remind me that He keeps His promises...I want to remember how much I have been blessed with...

Third Day in Melbourne

We’ve been trying to sleep earlier, but haven’t been able to much as we’ve tried. Been sleeping around midnight or after for the last 2 days – watching Chinese tv series with Andrew’s mom. :p And guess what we’ve been eating for the last 3 days? Lots of Chinese food!!! Haha…funny huh? Not much diff now that I look back at what Andrew’s mom said, “You’re eating guai lou food when you’re going to Australia now?!” That was our dinner at Swensen’s, Changi Airport Terminal 1 before our flight here.

We dragged Andrew’s mom for a walk in Richmond (aka “Little Vietnam”) today. Stuffed ourselves silly with dim sum at Minh Tan II. I didn’t realize Andrew’s mom was gonna order half a roast duck and a plate of kailan with oyster sauce after I’d placed order for 6-7 types of dim sum!!! Luckily they were not too bad (well, at least in comparison to the obviously-frozen-then-microwaved dim sum we had in Chinatown yesterday)

Also found out we are able to get most of the Chinese groceries such as dried foodstuff and Chinese herbal products in Richmond than in Chinatown. We bought ginger (which we couldn’t find in the neighbourhood supermarket), salt, bitter and sweet almond, luohan guo, pork lard *yucks~ good thing it’s not intended for eating this time – it’s for greasing the wok. Andrew’s mom says we have to do that before we can start using a new wok* at a large Chinese grocery shop.

Saw lots of familiar stuff we normally see in supermarkets in Singapore. Good. Now I know we won’t be deprived of nutrition from Chinese wisdom in Melbourne. Both of us have studied carefully and trust Chinese herbal cooking more than western medicine and health supplement. Oh…and here’s a photo of my darling husband thrilled at finding ABC – not black but white this time...ABC Lychee Syrup -- who cares about the dark now! ;p
